Deadman's Ghost - The Broken Zoetrope (album preview)
17/02/2012
The Broken Zoetrope is the full-length album debut of Deadman’s Ghost (formerly Deadman), the project lead by Belfast musician Jason Mills in collaboration with sound engineer David Baxter (aka Kab Driver). The Broken Zoetrope will be released on transparent limited vinyl edition and digital format. The vinyl edition will be accompanied with a soundcard to download the full album plus the digital reissue of Cerebral Frontier, the previous ep of Deadman´s Ghost.
Cinematic scope and stylistic experimentation, post-rock instrumentation and electronic soundscapes coalesce with all manner of other influences. Samples of random people recollecting their dreams and nightmares, recorded by Mills on the streets of Northern Ireland with a dictaphone; mixtures of classical guitar scales with funk percussion burst out of the speakers with overdriven pop hooks and sub-bass energy, conjuring an apocalyptic scenario which renders futile our various attempts to capture our individual stories.

We want to share with you the new video of The Human Elephant. The video You deserve to die was made by the german artist Michael Hirsch. It’s a beautiful mix between collages and juxtapositions of images of old buildings and apartments in Berlin. A sequence that takes us back to the representative architecture of eastern Germany. You deserve to die is part of the album White Thunder by The Human Elephant, available in limited edition vinyl record and digital format.
